I still have passes available. If interested, DM me.\n\nI'm keynoting DataCon LA on August 22 at California State University, Long Beach.\n\nThe talk: \"The Good, the Bad, and the Exciting: The Real Role of AI Now and Next.\"\n\nIn 15 minutes, I'll cover three things every leader can act on now.\n\n1. How to build an AI strategy that actually works. Most of what is sold as AI is automation with better marketing. Start with the problem, not the tool.\n\n2. What AI really means for the workforce. The risk is not the technology. It is falling behind the people who use it. As NVIDIA's Jensen Huang put it, \"you're not going to lose your job to AI, but you're going to lose your job to someone who uses AI.\"\n\n3. Why AI fluency is becoming a KSA in everyday life, much like the internet before it. Knowledge, skill, and ability. Build it personally. Don't wait for your company to hand it to you.\n\nWe aren only in the opening moments of a nine-inning game when it comes to AI. Are you prepared to go the distance?\n\nIf you'll be there, come find me. Let's talk about where this is headed.\n\nData Con LA Ventures 52 Waterfront Logistics\n\n#DataConLA #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #DataScience #FutureOfWork #AIStrategy #Leadership #SupplyChain #Logistics #WorkforceDevelopment PortVelocity","topic":"advisory","byline":"weston","linkedin_url":"https://www.linkedin.com/in/westonlabar/recent-activity/all/","media":[{"h":720,"w":480,"id":"7b544bd7-8ae0-42ac-8f81-71d8f1dc29f0","alt":"Man in suit and tie keynote speaker","ext":"webp","crop":{"h":0.4167,"w":1,"x":0,"y":0.2359},"kind":"image","bytes":158176}],"published_at":"2026-08-18T19:26:00+00:00","updated_at":"2026-10-13T17:15:45.259874+00:00","card":null},"prev":{"slug":"invest-long-beach-funded-and-moving-forward","title":"Invest Long Beach: Funded and Moving Forward"},"next":{"slug":"shaping-the-future-of-work-ai-workforce-innovation-and-resilience","title":"Shaping the Future of Work: AI, Workforce Innovation, and Resilience"}}
